The recognition affirms SGD’s continued leadership in diagnostic services, now operating 60 laboratory sites and supporting over two million patients annually across the country.
In the same 2025 ceremony, SGD also won ICT Initiative of the Year for its Electronic Single Laboratory Integration Platform (e-SLIP)—a homegrown digital system that now connects over 800 partner laboratories nationwide. e-SLIP was designed to bridge the digital divide in healthcare by streamlining laboratory test requests, result delivery, and patient data exchange across multiple systems. It has significantly improved turnaround time, reduced administrative errors, and enhanced operational efficiency for SGD and its partner institutions.
Another key recognition in 2025 was the Facilities Improvement Initiative of the Year, awarded for SGD’s transformation partnership with VisayasMed in Cebu. By collaborating with this 70-year-old hospital, SGD modernized laboratory infrastructure, upgraded equipment, enhanced processes, and trained staff—resulting in a sixfold increase in diagnostic capacity and a substantial rise in patient test volumes. Turnaround times for routine test results were also notably shortened, improving care delivery and patient outcomes. Undoubtedly, revenue and margin improvements followed soon after.
These three 2025 awards add to SGD’s growing track record of innovation and excellence in the last two years. In 2024, SGD was honored for Employee Engagement of the Year and Service Innovation of the Year, recognizing its culture of upskilling, collaboration, and internal systems that drive continuous improvement.
